The 2023 Virginia Geological Field Conference will assemble in southwestern Virginia to examine the complex and wonderful geology in the Mt. Rogers area. The conference will be based out of the Blue Ridge Discovery Center (6402 Whitetop Rd, Troutdale, VA 24378)
Tentative Conference Schedule: Friday, October 27th @ 6:30 p.m. – Reception, business meeting, and an introductory talk
Saturday, October 28th @ 7:30 a.m. – Full day field trip with bus transportation, lunch, snacks, and drinks provided
Sunday, October 29th @ 7:30 a.m. – Optional half-day field trip (return to BRDC before 1 pm)
Costs- Both Full Day Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday trip: Professional $150, Student $75
Just the Full Day Saturday trip: Professional $110, Student $55
Lodging and Meals: Bunkhouse space and rooms, as well as family-style meals, are available at the Blue Ridge Discovery Center. HERE is the link to their booking page. Once at that page you’ll need to use the password- VGFC to further access and reserve space.
