The 2022 Virginia Geological Field Conference will return to the field with an exciting trip across the eastern Piedmont’s Goochland Terrane to see complex rocks and discuss new findings. A welcome party with will take place at Atlas 42 in Short Pump/Innsbruck on Richmond’s westside on Friday, November 11th @ 6 p.m. Appetizers, soft drinks, and coffee will be provided plus there will be a cash bar. The the VGFC business meeting and an introductory talk will commence at 6:30 p.m.
The field trip will assemble at the Luck Stone facility at Boscobel (Manakin) on Saturday, November 12th @ 7 a.m. The trip will finish at a rural brewery with a complimentary beverage and return to Manakin by ~5:30 p.m. There are numerous hotels in the westside Richmond and Short Pump areas, although rates are currently high.
